| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Carrie Hoffpauir has been honored with the EXCEL |

| 6 | 6 | | Award for the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School |

| 7 | 7 | | District from the KENS 5 television station; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, KENS 5 presents its EXCEL Awards to |

| 9 | 9 | | recognize outstanding educators from local school districts; as |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | part of the award, Ms. Hoffpauir also received a $1,000 cash prize; |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Hoffpauir is a fifth grade language arts teacher |

| 13 | 13 | | at Barbara Jordan Intermediate School; known for her creative |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | teaching methods, she enjoys incorporating animals into the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | learning process, and she takes great satisfaction in inspiring her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | students to never give up; she works tirelessly to foster an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | appreciation of reading in her pupils, while also emphasizing the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | value of social emotional learning in her classroom; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, Carrie Hoffpauir has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | made a positive difference in the lives of countless young Texans, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and her dedication, expertise, and innovative spirit have earned |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | her the lasting respect and admiration of her students and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | colleagues alike; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Carrie Hoffpauir on receiving the |
