| 6 | 6 | | Association are gathering in Austin on April 18, 2023, in |

| 7 | 7 | | celebration of Texas Deposition Reporting Day at the State Capitol; |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, TEXDRA represents Texas-certified shorthand |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | reporters and court reporting firms across the state, and it plays |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | an instrumental role in recruiting, training, and mentoring |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | individuals in the field of court reporting; the organization also |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | advocates for measures to promote and modernize the profession; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Certified shorthand reporters are regulated by the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Judicial Branch Certification Commission of the Supreme Court of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Texas, and they are integral to the state's judicial system; these |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | skilled individuals maintain the highest standards of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | transparency, honesty, and hard work to ensure that all testimony |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | is accurately recorded; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, shorthand reporters in Texas have |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | demonstrated remarkable adaptability and determination; following |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the Supreme Court's order to take depositions remotely, they not |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | only complied with the ruling but also achieved greater efficiency, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | resulting in reduced litigation costs; they have also adopted new |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | technologies such as secure digital transcripts that ensure the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | integrity of documents while conserving paper; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, All those associated with TEXDRA are deserving of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | special recognition for their important work and service to the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | State of Texas and its courts, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | welcome them to Austin on their legislative day; now, therefore, be |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
