| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 102.052(a), Business & Commerce Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) A fee is imposed on a sexually oriented business in an | |
| 13 | 13 | amount equal to $20 [$5] for each entry by each customer admitted to | |
| 14 | 14 | the business. | |
| 15 | 15 | SECTION 2. The fee imposed by Section 102.052(a), Business & | |
| 16 | 16 | Commerce Code, as amended by this Act, applies only to a sexually | |
| 17 | 17 | oriented business with respect to the admission by the business of | |
| 18 | 18 | customers on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
