9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 418.014(c), Government Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) A state of disaster may not continue for more than 30 | |
13 | 13 | days unless renewed by the governor. The legislature by concurrent | |
14 | 14 | resolution [law] may terminate a state of disaster at any time. On | |
15 | 15 | termination by the legislature, the governor shall issue an | |
16 | 16 | executive order ending the state of disaster. | |
17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
