A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the funding categories of the unified transportation
program.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter P, Chapter 201, Transportation Code,
is amended by adding Section 201.9915 to read as follows:
Sec. 201.9915. FUNDING CATEGORY RELATED TO PORTS OF ENTRY.
(a) In this section:
(1) "Project related to a port of entry" has the
meaning assigned by Section 201.710.
(2) "Master plan" means the Texas-Mexico Border
Transportation Master Plan developed by the department in
collaboration with the border trade advisory committee and relevant
federal agencies in the United States and the United Mexican
States.
(b) The commission shall establish a funding category under
Section 201.991(b)(2) for projects related to a port of entry,
including projects recommended in the master plan.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
