77 relating to the date of dissolution of the Save Historic Muny
88 District.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 3988.0302(d), Special District Local
1111 Laws Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (d) The district may enter into a contract with the city to
1313 allow the city to provide to the district revenue from fees
1414 collected by the city from municipally owned utility customers in
1515 the district in exchange for the district providing an improvement
1616 project or service that provides a public benefit to the city. The
1717 district may not enter into a contract described by this subsection
1818 unless the district enters into an agreement before May 31, 2025
1919 [2023], with the owner of the land used for the historic Lions
2020 Municipal Golf Course that provides for the purchase of the land or
2121 a method of preserving the land as a public golf course, publicly
2222 available parkland, or a combination of those uses.
2323 SECTION 2. Section 3988.0901, Special District Local Laws
2424 Code, is amended to read as follows:
2525 Sec. 3988.0901. DISSOLUTION. Except as limited by Section
2626 375.264, Local Government Code, the board shall dissolve the
2727 district not later than May 31, 2025 [2023], unless, as of that
2828 date, the district has entered into an agreement with the owner of
2929 the land used for the historic Lions Municipal Golf Course that
3030 provides for the purchase of the land or a method of preserving the
3131 land as a public golf course, publicly available parkland, or a
3232 combination of those uses.
3333 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3434 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3535 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3636 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3737 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
