55 relating to recording the status of certain home studies performed
66 by the Department of Family and Protective Services.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 262.114, Family Code, is amended by
99 adding Subsection (a-3) to read as follows:
1010 (a-3) The department shall maintain an electronic record of
1111 the status of a home study required under Subsection (a) of a
1212 potential relative or designated caregiver.
1313 SECTION 2. Section 262.114(a-3), Family Code, as added by
1414 this Act, applies only to a home study performed on or after the
1515 effective date of this Act. A home study performed before the
1616 effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the
1717 date the home study was performed, and the former law is continued
1818 in effect for that purpose.
1919 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
