| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 411, Government Code, is |

| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 411.0541 to read as follows: |

| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 411.0541. REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR FEDERAL |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | INCIDENT-BASED CRIME STATISTICS REPORTING. The department and all |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | local law enforcement agencies that use an incident-based reporting |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | system to report information and statistics concerning criminal |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | offenses committed in this state to the Federal Bureau of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Investigation, as a part of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Federal Bureau of Investigation, shall include the ethnicity of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | an arrestee in the reported incident. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
