55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the evaluation of child-care providers participating in
88 the Texas Rising Star Program.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 2308.3155, Government Code, is amended
1111 by adding Subsections (b-3) and (b-4) to read as follows:
1212 (b-3) When determining the provider's rating under the
1313 rating system adopted under Subsection (b), the commission shall
1414 consider:
1515 (1) comments from caregivers employed by the
1616 child-care provider and parents of children receiving care from the
1717 provider;
1818 (2) information regarding any investigations by the
1919 Department of Family and Protective Services relating to the
2020 provider; and
2121 (3) a provider's detailed licensing information,
2222 including any reports against the provider for a violation of the
2323 minimum standards for the provider and any adverse action taken by
2424 the Health and Human Services Commission against the provider's
2525 license or registration.
2626 (b-4) The commission shall collaborate with the Department
2727 of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services
2828 Commission to obtain the information described by Subsections
2929 (b-3)(2) and (3).
3030 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
