| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 318, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | adding Section 318.004 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 318.004. STATEMENT REGARDING REVIEW OF LEGISLATION |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | REGULATING AN OCCUPATION. (a) A bill that would create an |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | occupational license or expand an existing occupational license |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | must include the following attached to the bill: |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (1) a statement, prepared by the Legislative Budget |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Board, indicating whether a member of the legislature has requested |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a review of the proposed legislation under Section 325.023; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (2) if applicable, any report regarding the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | legislation prepared under that section. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (b) An item required by Subsection (a) must be printed as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | part of the committee report for the bill and of all subsequent |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | printings and remain with the bill throughout the legislative |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | process, including submission to the governor. |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
