| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 1575, Insurance Code, is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | amended by adding Section 1575.1601 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Sec. 1575.1601. GROUP BENEFITS FOR DENTAL AND VISION CARE. |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | The trustee shall establish or contract for and make available |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | under the group program the following plans for retirees, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | dependents, surviving spouses, and surviving dependent children: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) an optional plan that provides coverage for dental |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | care; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (2) an optional plan that provides coverage for vision |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | care. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
