| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 51.002, Election Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1) to read as |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (b) For the general election for state and county officers |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and for a special election for an officer regularly elected at the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | general election, the county election board consists of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | following members: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) the county judge; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (2) the[,] county clerk; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (3) the[,] voter registrar; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (4) the[,] sheriff; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (5) the[, and] county chair of each political party |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | required to nominate candidates by primary election; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (6) as a nonvoting member, the county elections |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | administrator, if applicable. |

| 24 | 24 | | (b-1) For an election other than an election described by |

| 25 | 25 | | Subsection (b) [other elections], the board consists of the |

| 26 | 26 | | following members: |
