| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. As soon as practicable after the effective date | |
| 12 | 12 | of this Act, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, in cooperation | |
| 13 | 13 | with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, shall petition | |
| 14 | 14 | the office of nuclear reactor regulation of the federal Nuclear | |
| 15 | 15 | Regulatory Commission to obtain by delegation the authority to | |
| 16 | 16 | issue permits for nuclear power reactor operators. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
