77 relating to the fast growth allotment under the public school
88 finance system.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 48.111(a), Education Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (c), a school district
1313 is entitled to an annual allotment equal to the basic allotment
1414 multiplied by the applicable weight under Subsection (a-1) for each
1515 enrolled student equal to the greater of:
1616 (1) the difference, if the difference is greater than
1717 zero, that results from subtracting 250 from the difference between
1818 the number of students enrolled in the district during the school
1919 year immediately preceding the current school year and the number
2020 of students enrolled in the district during the school year six
2121 years preceding the current school year; or
2222 (2) the average annual growth in student enrollment in
2323 the district for the preceding three school years, if the growth in
2424 student enrollment in the district for the preceding three school
2525 years is in the top quartile of student enrollment growth in school
2626 districts in the state for that period, as determined by the
2727 commissioner.
2828 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
