| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 421.005 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 421.005. PERFORMANCE MEASURES FOR ASSESSING BORDER | |
| 14 | 14 | OPERATIONS; REPORT. Each state agency participating in Operation | |
| 15 | 15 | Lone Star or a successor border security operation shall develop | |
| 16 | 16 | and implement performance measures as part of the agency's review | |
| 17 | 17 | of its border operations and report its findings to the legislature | |
| 18 | 18 | not later than January 30 of each year. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
