66 AN ACT
77 relating to Medicaid coverage and reimbursement for multisystemic
88 therapy services.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 32.024, Human Resources Code, is amended
1111 by adding Subsection (oo-1) to read as follows:
1212 (oo-1) The commission shall ensure that medical assistance
1313 reimbursement is provided to a health care provider who provides
1414 services classified as multisystemic therapy by the Healthcare
1515 Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) code to a recipient under
1616 the medical assistance program. The executive commissioner shall
1717 establish a separate provider type for multisystemic therapy
1818 providers for purposes of enrollment as a provider for and
1919 reimbursement under the medical assistance program.
2020 SECTION 2. If before implementing any provision of this Act
2121 a state agency determines that a waiver or authorization from a
2222 federal agency is necessary for implementation of that provision,
2323 the agency affected by the provision shall request the waiver or
2424 authorization and may delay implementing that provision until the
2525 waiver or authorization is granted.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
