| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 341, Health and Safety |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Code, is amended by adding Section 341.070 to read as follows: |

| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 341.070. ADULT CHANGING STATIONS IN PUBLIC BUILDINGS. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (a) In this section, "public building" means a building used for |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | purposes that provide for public access or occupancy, including a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | building owned or controlled by this state or a political |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | subdivision of this state. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) A person with control over bathrooms and changing |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | facilities in a public building shall ensure that a private space |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | for an adult changing station is installed in one or more restrooms |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | or changing facilities accessible to the general public in the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | building. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (c) A person with control over bathrooms and changing |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | facilities in a public building shall post in a conspicuous place a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | sign with clear language indicating the location in the building of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | each restroom or changing facility with an adult changing station. |

| 26 | 26 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
