| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 1331, Government Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 1331.003 to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | Sec. 1331.003. BONDS THAT INCREASE TAXES. A ballot | |
| 13 | 13 | proposition to approve bonds issued by a municipality that would | |
| 14 | 14 | add or increase taxes must include the following statement: "THIS | |
| 15 | 15 | IS A TAX INCREASE." | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 17 | 17 | to an election ordered on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
