| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended by adding Section 508.1145 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Sec. 508.1145. PROCESSING OF INFORMATION REQUESTS RELATING |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | TO RELEASEES. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | To the extent practicable, a parole officer shall: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 1. Complete the processing of a request relating to a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | releasee's employment, including all necessary paperwork, not |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | later than the thirtieth calendar day after the date the officer |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | receives the request. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 2. Complete the processing of a request relating to the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | completion of a releasee's term of parole or mandatory supervision, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | including all necessary paperwork, not later than the thirtieth |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | calendar day after the date the officer receives the request. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
