66 relating to insurance adjuster license application procedures.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 4101.052, Insurance Code, is amended by
99 amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsections (c) and (d) to read
1010 as follows:
1111 (a) Except as provided by Subsection (c), an [An] applicant
1212 for a license under this chapter must submit to the department an
1313 application on a form prescribed and provided by the department,
1414 and include as part of or in connection with the application any
1515 information that the department reasonably requires, including
1616 information about the applicant's:
1717 (1) identity;
1818 (2) personal history;
1919 (3) experience; and
2020 (4) business record.
2121 (c) For the purpose of Subsection (a), the commissioner
2222 shall allow an individual to apply for a license electronically
2323 using the National Association of Insurance Commissioners Uniform
2424 Application for Individual Adjuster or Apprentice
2525 License/Registration as it existed on May 1, 2023.
2626 (d) The commissioner shall take any action necessary for
2727 this state to participate in and adopt the application procedures
2828 of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners National
2929 Insurance Producer Registry for the purpose of licensing and
3030 license renewal for independent adjusters.
3131 SECTION 2. Not later than September 1, 2024, the
3232 commissioner of insurance shall adopt rules to implement Section
3333 4101.052(d), Insurance Code, as added by this Act.
3434 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
