77 relating to the provision of information relating to certain
88 election officials appointed by the commissioners court.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 32.012, Election Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 Sec. 32.012. PROVISION OF INFORMATION RELATING TO ELECTION
1313 OFFICIALS [JUDGES] APPOINTED BY COMMISSIONERS COURT. (a) After
1414 the commissioners court appoints a presiding election judge and an
1515 alternate presiding judge, the county clerk shall provide to the
1616 county chair of each political party a list of the individuals
1717 appointed by the commissioners court to serve as presiding election
1818 judge and alternate presiding judge.
1919 (b) On the written request of a county chair of a political
2020 party holding a primary election in the county, the county clerk
2121 shall provide to the county chair a list of:
2222 (1) election officers appointed under Section 85.009;
2323 (2) judges appointed under Section 32.002; and
2424 (3) for each individual listed under Subdivision (1)
2525 or (2):
2626 (A) the political party that submitted the list
2727 from which the individual was appointed; and
2828 (B) the polling location to which the individual
2929 is assigned.
3030 (c) The county clerk shall provide a list provided to a
3131 county chair under Subsection (b):
3232 (1) not later than the fifth business day after the
3333 date the county chair makes the request; or
3434 (2) if the request is made after the 14th day before
3535 the election, not later than the third business day after the date
3636 the county chair makes the request.
3737 (d) A [The appointment] list under this section must be
3838 provided in writing.
3939 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
