A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the restriction of the use of toll road funds for road
projects.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
Section 1: Sec. 284.003, Transportation Code. PROJECT AUTHORIZED;
CONSTRUCTION, OPERATION, AND COST is amended by adding subsection
(h):
(h) Money allocated and collected by a toll road authority
is restricted only for usage by that toll road authority on road
projects.
Section 2: Sec. 284.0031, Transportation Code. OTHER ROAD, STREET,
OR HIGHWAY PROJECTS is amended by adding subsection (f):
(f) Money allocated and collected by a toll road authority
is restricted only for usage by that toll road authority on road
projects.
Section 3: This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
