| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 66.057, Election Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (d) Voted ballots are confidential and not subject to | |
| 13 | 13 | disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code, until after the | |
| 14 | 14 | expiration of the preservation period prescribed by Section | |
| 15 | 15 | 66.058(a). | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 17 | 17 | to a request for public information received by a governmental body | |
| 18 | 18 | or an officer for public information under Chapter 552, Government | |
| 19 | 19 | Code, on or after the effective date of this Act. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
