| 7 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Section 9501.057(a), Special District Local Laws |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (a) The commissioners court and the governing body of the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | municipality by order or resolution shall set the compensation of |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | members of the commission. The amount of compensation for each |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | member may not exceed $150 [$50] for each day that the member |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | attends an official meeting of the commission. The total amount of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | compensation for each member each month may not exceed $600 [$300]. |

| 16 | 16 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
