77 relating to the limitation on the number of baccalaureate degree
88 programs a public junior college may offer.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 130.306, Education Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 Sec. 130.306. CONTINUING APPROVAL BY COORDINATING BOARD
1313 REQUIRED [LIMITATION]. [(a) A public junior college offering a
1414 baccalaureate degree program under this subchapter may not offer
1515 more than five baccalaureate degree programs at any time.
1616 [(c)] Degree programs offered under this subchapter are
1717 subject to the continuing approval of the coordinating board.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1919 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2020 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2121 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2222 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
