| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 130.306, Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 130.306. CONTINUING APPROVAL BY COORDINATING BOARD |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | REQUIRED [LIMITATION]. [(a) A public junior college offering a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | baccalaureate degree program under this subchapter may not offer |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | more than five baccalaureate degree programs at any time. |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | [(c)] Degree programs offered under this subchapter are |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | subject to the continuing approval of the coordinating board. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
