| 6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 2054.378, Government Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | amending Subsection (a) and adding Subsection (c) to read as |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | (a) The department may operate statewide technology centers |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to provide [two or more] governmental entities, on a cost-sharing |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | basis, services relating to: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (1) information resources and information resources |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | technology; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) the deployment, development, and maintenance of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | software applications. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (c) The department by rule shall specify the services a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | statewide technology center may provide. |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
