A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the use of competitive bidding for certain purchases by
the Texas Education Agency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2155, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 2155.151 to read as follows:
Sec. 2155.151. CERTAIN PURCHASES BY TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY.
Notwithstanding Chapter 2054 and Section 2155.132(e), the Texas
Education Agency shall use competitive bidding for any purchase of
curriculum, software, or technology that exceeds $1,000.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
