77 relating to requirements for certain licenses and permits issued by
88 the Parks and Wildlife Department.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 61, Parks and Wildlife
1111 Code, is amended by adding Section 61.061 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 61.061. AFFIDAVIT REQUIRED. A proclamation of the
1313 commission under this chapter must require that an applicant for
1414 the issuance, reissuance, or renewal of a license, permit, or other
1515 authorization to possess wildlife resources submit with the
1616 application an affidavit made before an officer qualified to
1717 administer oaths affirming that the person has read and understands
1818 each provision of this code and rule adopted under this code
1919 relating to the administration of drugs to the wildlife resource to
2020 which the license, permit, or other authorization applies.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act applies only to an application for the
2222 issuance, reissuance, or renewal of a license, permit, or other
2323 authorization submitted on or after the effective date of this Act.
2424 An application for the issuance, reissuance, or renewal of a
2525 license, permit, or other authorization submitted before the
2626 effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect on the
2727 date the application was submitted, and the former law is continued
2828 in effect for that purpose.
2929 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
