9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 22, Government Code, is |
---|
11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 22.3015 to read as follows: |
---|
12 | 12 | | Sec. 22.3015. EXPENSES OF APPELLATE COURT JUDGE OR JUSTICE. |
---|
13 | 13 | | (a) A justice of the supreme court, a judge of the court of criminal |
---|
14 | 14 | | appeals, or a justice of a court of appeals engaged in the discharge |
---|
15 | 15 | | of official duties in a county other than the justice's or judge's |
---|
16 | 16 | | county of residence is entitled to traveling and other necessary |
---|
17 | 17 | | expenses, as provided by Chapter 660. |
---|
18 | 18 | | (b) A justice of the supreme court, a judge of the court of |
---|
19 | 19 | | criminal appeals, or a justice of a court of appeals is entitled to |
---|
20 | 20 | | receive from the state the actual and necessary postage, telegraph, |
---|
21 | 21 | | and telephone expenses incurred in the discharge of official |
---|
22 | 22 | | duties. |
---|
23 | 23 | | (c) The expenses shall be paid by the state on a sworn |
---|
24 | 24 | | itemized account showing the expenses. |
---|
25 | 25 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
