99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 9, Business & Commerce
1111 Code, is amended by adding Section 9.5265 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 9.5265. ELECTRONIC FILING TECHNOLOGY. The Secretary
1313 of State may use blockchain technology for the purposes of
1414 accepting and storing electronic financing statements and other
1515 records filed with the filing office under this subchapter.
1616 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1717 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1818 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
1919 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2020 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
