| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 33.051(a), Election Code, is amended to | |
| 11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) A watcher appointed to serve at a precinct polling | |
| 13 | 13 | place, a meeting place for an early voting ballot board, or a | |
| 14 | 14 | central counting station must deliver the following materials to | |
| 15 | 15 | the presiding judge at the time the watcher reports for service: | |
| 16 | 16 | (1) a form of legal identification under Section | |
| 17 | 17 | 63.0101 that discloses the full name and address of the watcher; | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) a certificate of appointment; and | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) [(2)] a certificate of completion from training | |
| 20 | 20 | completed by the watcher under Section 33.008. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
