88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 40, Article III, Texas Constitution, is
1010 amended to read as follows:
1111 Sec. 40. (a) When the legislature is [Legislature shall be]
1212 convened in a special session, the legislature may consider [there
1313 shall be no] legislation on any subject, including the [upon]
1414 subjects [other than those] designated in the proclamation of the
1515 governor [Governor] calling the [such] session, or presented to the
1616 legislature [them] by the governor.
1717 (b) No special [Governor; and no such] session shall be of
1818 longer duration than thirty days.
1919 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2020 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
2121 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2222 proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the
2323 legislature to consider legislation on any subject during a special
2424 session."
