55 A JOINT RESOLUTION

99 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by
1111 adding Section 36 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 36. RIGHT TO REFUSE MEDICAL TREATMENT; ACCESS TO
1313 PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS. (a) Each individual residing in this state
1414 has the right to refuse any medical treatment, including a
1515 procedure, vaccine, medical device, or prophylactic, and a person
1616 may not interfere with or impede that right in any manner.
1717 (b) A person may not restrict or deny an individual's access
1818 to public accommodations based on the individual's exercise of the
1919 right guaranteed under Subsection (a) of this section to refuse a
2020 medical treatment.
2121 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
2222 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 7, 2023.
2323 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
2424 proposition: "The constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right
2525 of individuals to refuse medical treatments and to access public
2626 accommodations."
