SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 17
WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and James and Earlene
Daily of Longview celebrated this joyous milestone in their
marriage on September 23, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Daily were joined in matrimony in
1952, and over the years, they have been blessed with a treasured
family that includes their children, Steve Daily and his wife,
Laura, and Beth Daily Connolly and her husband, Mike, as well as
four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The couple are respected members of the Longview
community, where Mr. Daily owned and operated Daily Electric
Motor Company for many years until his retirement; although
the business was sold, the new owners kept the name of the
company out of respect for the Dailys, and it continues to
operate to this day; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Daily have enjoyed seven decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby congratulate James and Earlene Daily on
the joyous occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary and
extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Daily as an expression of high regard
by the Texas Senate.
