4	4	Jose Angel Martinez
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Jose Angel Martinez, who died on
7	7	December 16, 2019, at the age of 67; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Jose Angel Martinez was born on August 2, 1952, in
9	9	El Palmarito, Nuevo León, Mexico; he attended elementary school
10	10	through the third grade before immigrating with his family to the
11	11	United States; and
12	12	WHEREAS, A man of determination and strength, Mr. Martinez
13	13	served as a foreman in the Central Valley of California and was
14	14	employed with the same farmer for nearly 50 years; he was blessed
15	15	with four children and nine grandchildren, who were a source of
16	16	great pride and joy in his life; and
17	17	WHEREAS, A devoted father, Mr. Martinez instilled in his
18	18	children the values of hard work, self-reliance, and the
19	19	importance of contributing to one's community; he helped his
20	20	children achieve their dreams and found great reward in their
21	21	successes; and
22	22	WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez cherished time spent with family,
23	23	and he enjoyed his visits during the holidays with family members
24	24	in the Rio Grande Valley; he resided in Mission while being cared
25	25	for by family, and he returned to his native Mexico, where he
26	26	spent his final days; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez was a source of strength and
28	28	inspiration in the lives of those who knew him, and he leaves
29	29	behind memories that will be forever treasured by his family and
30	30	friends and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
31	31	therefore, be it
32	32	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
33	33	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
34	34	family of Jose Angel Martinez; and, be it further
35	35	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
36	36	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
37	37	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
38	38	memory of Jose Angel Martinez.
