| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Philanthropist Carla Perry has greatly benefited |

| 3 | 3 | | citizens of Young County through her long record of service to |

| 4 | 4 | | the community; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Committed to the health and well-being of her |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | fellow residents, Ms. Perry serves as a director of the Olney |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Hamilton Hospital Foundation; the charitable organization was |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | founded in 1997 to advance the hospital's mission, and it has |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | since raised $2 million for equipment and items related to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | patient care; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Perry launched a new organization, the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Perry's Foundation, in 2017; sharing wealth and resources to |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | promote the sustainability of the community, it empowers |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | service-driven individuals and groups; the foundation has |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | conferred academic scholarships and made grants to such |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organizations as Olney Heritage Museum, Olney Enterprise, Olney |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Community Library, and Lamb's Tale Ministries; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An admired businesswoman, Ms. Perry began her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | career alongside her husband, the late L. F. Perry; the couple |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | began operating a construction business in the early 1950s, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | after relocating to Texas in 1959, they established Perry Ready |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Mix; their subsequent enterprise, Construction Equipment |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Manufacturing Company, or CEMCO, has manufactured mobile |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | batching plants and mixing equipment since 1975; Ms. Perry |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | continues to serve as president, overseeing daily operations of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the plant; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Carla Perry has made a lasting, positive impact |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | through her unyielding dedication to the betterment of her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | community, and her wide-ranging contributions have earned the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | admiration and appreciation of innumerable people; now, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby honor Carla Perry for her philanthropy and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her |

| 35 | 35 | | endeavors; and, be it further |
