| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Pat Yancey was honored with induction into the |

| 3 | 3 | | Rodeo Hall of Fame at Tarleton State University on November 4, |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A renowned bull rider, Mr. Yancey gained acclaim |

| 6 | 6 | | as a member of the rodeo team at Tarleton State; he qualified for |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the College National Finals Rodeo in 1987, and his achievements |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | during his senior year in 1989 included a second CNFR appearance |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | as well as winning 8 of 17 events in the Southwest Region of the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, which earned him a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | regional title; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, At the professional level, Mr. Yancey was the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texas Circuit Rookie of the Year in 1988 and a four-time Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Circuit finalist and a Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | qualifier in 1995; the following year, he advanced to the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Professional Bull Riders World Finals, and he qualified for the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | National Finals Rodeo; in recognition of his accomplishments, he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | was inducted into the All Cowboy & Arena Champions Hall of Fame in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 2021; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Yancey received a business and criminal |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | justice degree from Tarleton State in 1990; today, he is a proud |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | member of the Tarleton Rodeo Alumni Chapter of the Tarleton |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Alumni Association; dedicated to giving back to the sport, he is |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | actively involved in the rodeo community and has served as a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | mentor to young bull riders; moreover, through his roles of vice |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | president and partner at TexCap Insurance in Dallas, he promotes |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the annual Cowboys & Cowboys Sky Ranch Gala, a collaboration |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | between rodeo cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys football team that |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | raises funds for scholarships and the Sky Ranch ministry; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of an exceptional career, Pat |

| 31 | 31 | | Yancey inspired rodeo fans across the Lone Star State and beyond, |

| 32 | 32 | | and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious accolade; now, |

| 33 | 33 | | therefore, be it |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Pat Yancey on his 2022 |

| 36 | 36 | | induction into the Rodeo Hall of Fame at Tarleton State |

| 37 | 37 | | University and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
