SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 189
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Lyford Consolidated Independent School District
Board of Trustees for being named the 2022 Texas Outstanding
School Board, the top honor awarded by the Texas Association of
School Administrators School Board Awards program; and
WHEREAS, Since 1971, the Texas Association of School
Administrators has honored Texas school boards for demonstrating
commitment to educating their students and supporting their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Located south of Raymondville in Education
Service Center Region 1, a small, rural district that serves over
1,400 students, Lyford CISD impressed the selection committee
with the high quality and number of services and opportunities
that it offers to its students; the board's emphasis on promoting
college readiness and robust career and technical education
convinced the Texas Association of School Administrators to give
its most prestigious award to the district; and
WHEREAS, The Lyford board of trustees is highly respected
for its cooperation with parents and community members; its
amicable and collaborative approach to decision-making, and its
ability to adapt to change while maintaining community
traditions; it is truly fitting that the Lyford CISD board
members receive special recognition for their many exemplary
achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
Legislature, hereby commend the Lyford Consolidated Independent
School District Board of Trustees on its dedication to excellence
in education and extend congratulations to its members on being
named the Texas Association of School Administrators 2022 Texas
Outstanding School Board; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
board members as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
