SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 191 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to welcome the members of the Association of Texas Professional Educators who are visiting Austin and to join them in celebrating February 21, 2023, as the Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the Capitol; and WHEREAS, The Association of Texas Professional Educators was founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and public education employees; the association is one of the largest independent educators' associations in the United States; and WHEREAS, The association is made up of nearly 90,000 members and educator leaders, whose participation is guided by the tenets established by its board of directors; it encourages active involvement in the political process and calls on members to serve as leaders in their communities; and WHEREAS, The association works diligently to protect the rights of educators across the state and strives to ensure that the state's schools are among the best in the nation; its members have a profound impact on the future of this state as they prepare the schoolchildren of Texas to achieve success in a complex world; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the association on their commitment to excellence in education and extend to them best wishes for a productive and memorable Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the association as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
