| 4 | 4 | | Educators who are visiting Austin and to join them in celebrating |

| 5 | 5 | | February 21, 2023, as the Association of Texas Professional |

| 6 | 6 | | Educators Day at the Capitol; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Association of Texas Professional Educators |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | was founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | paraprofessionals, administrators, and public education |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | employees; the association is one of the largest independent |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | educators' associations in the United States; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The association is made up of nearly 90,000 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | members and educator leaders, whose participation is guided by |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the tenets established by its board of directors; it encourages |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | active involvement in the political process and calls on members |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | to serve as leaders in their communities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The association works diligently to protect the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | rights of educators across the state and strives to ensure that |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the state's schools are among the best in the nation; its members |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | have a profound impact on the future of this state as they prepare |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the schoolchildren of Texas to achieve success in a complex |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | world; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the association on |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | their commitment to excellence in education and extend to them |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | best wishes for a productive and memorable Association of Texas |
