| 3 | 3 | | Association are gathering in Austin on February 22, 2023, to |

| 4 | 4 | | celebrate Texas BOMA Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and |

| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state-federated |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate business; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | it is composed of more than 2,500 members statewide and six |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | federated associations in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Worth, Houston, and San Antonio; its members support over 100,000 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | jobs and add billions of dollars to the state's economy; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | organization and local affiliates in working to reduce the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | environmental impact of development by advancing energy |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | efficiency and sustainability initiatives; since 2007, BOMA |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | International has been honored by the Environmental Protection |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy with 13 ENERGY STAR |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence Awards; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, Texas BOMA has served |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | as a voice for those who work in the commercial real estate |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | industry while helping to promote responsible building |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | practices, and this legislative day provides a fitting |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | opportunity to honor the organization and its members; now, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby recognize February 22, 2023, as Texas |
