2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the people of Israel and supporters of Israel from
4	8		throughout Texas, Israel, and the United States on the occasion
5	9		of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, which is taking place in
6	10		Houston on February 24, 2023, and to join in celebrating 2023 as
7	11		the 75th anniversary of Israel's independence; and
8	12		WHEREAS, The Lone Star State has always been a steadfast
9	13		supporter of the historic alliance between Israel and the United
10	14		States, and Texas has long enjoyed a cordial and mutually
11	15		beneficial relationship with Israel and her people; and
12	16		WHEREAS, The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast in Houston is an
13	17		opportunity for the broad expanse of Texas-based organizations
14	18		dedicated to the support of Israel to gather and to join with
15	19		citizens and public leaders in uplifting Israel in prayer and in
16	20		celebrating the 75th anniversary of Israel's independence; and
17	21		WHEREAS, Taking part in this special occasion are a number
18	22		of exemplary Texas-based groups unified in their recognition and
19	23		committed support of Israel, including such organizations as
20	24		America for Israel and the Texas-Israel Alliance; the efforts of
21	25		these groups and of such entities as the Israeli Consulate
22	26		General of the Southwest in Houston have continued to strengthen
23	27		the close ties between Israel and Texas, and it is indeed fitting
24	28		that this important connection be celebrated and honored; now,
25	29		therefore, be it
26	30		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
27	31		Legislature, hereby commend the organizers, supporters, and
28	32		attendees of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast on their invaluable
29	33		contributions to the shared bond between Texas and Israel and
30	34		extend to all associated with the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast best
31	35		wishes for a fruitful and rewarding gathering; and, be it further
32	36		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
33	37		honor of this special event as an expression of esteem from the
34	38		Texas Senate.
