SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 231 WHEREAS, Cameron Roller of Sherman turned in exceptional performances as a member of U.S. youth soccer teams at two international competitions in 2022; and WHEREAS, Considered one of the top center backs in the nation, Ms. Roller helped lead the U.S. Under-17 Women's Youth National Team to the overall title at the 2022 Concacaf Women's U-17 Championship, which took place from April 23 through May 8 in the Dominican Republic; in September, she further distinguished herself by making the U.S. team roster for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup; serving as a U.S. captain, she played a vital role in sparking her squad to the quarterfinals of the prestigious competition, which was held in October in India; and WHEREAS, A senior at Gunter High School, Ms. Roller has been ranked No. 13 overall and as the No. 4 defender in the TopDrawerSoccer Class of 2023, and she has signed a letter of intent to compete for the Duke University women's soccer team; she has honed her skills as a member of the Solar Soccer Club, earning top conference honors for the 2021-2022 season and First Team recognition in 2020-2021; an all-around athlete, she has also competed as a member of the Gunter High girls' track team; and WHEREAS, By excelling on the soccer field, Cameron Roller has brought tremendous pride to her community, and her achievements truly merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, hereby congratulate Cameron Roller for her outstanding achievements in international soccer competitions and extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Roller as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
