| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize February 28, 2023, as Texas Food and Fuel Association |

| 4 | 4 | | Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Food and Fuel Association has |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | diligently represented the interests of its members for nearly 75 |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | years; chartered in 1949 and based in Austin, the association is |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | dedicated to the advancement of the retail and wholesale sectors |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of the state's oil and gas industry; its membership includes |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | businesses that process, transport, and sell refined products |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | made from crude oil; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Food and Fuel Association champions |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | businesses that own, operate, and supply more than 12,000 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | convenience stores, truck stops, and grocery stores; in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | addition, it advocates for fuel marketers that distribute |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | approximately nine billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | annually, supplying motorists as well as commercial and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | industrial customers; the organization further serves |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | manufacturers and vendors of equipment and services that support |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the industry; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of its current chair, Terry |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Tesch, the Texas Food and Fuel Association works to raise |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | awareness of the industry's needs and objectives; the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | organization assesses industry trends and helps stakeholders |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | navigate market fluctuations, offering networking |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | opportunities, development tools, knowledge resources, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | professional education and training; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Texas Food and Fuel |

| 29 | 29 | | Association play a vital role in the economy and contribute |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | significantly to the continued prosperity of the Lone Star |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | State; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 33 | 33 | | Legislature, hereby recognize the Texas Food and Fuel Association |

| 34 | 34 | | and extend to all those affiliated with the organization sincere |
