| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The coalition's rural counties are an important |

| 10 | 10 | | transportation gateway, and the organization is dedicated to |

| 11 | 11 | | keeping freight moving, advancing rural broadband, and |

| 12 | 12 | | stimulating opportunities for innovation; in addition, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | alliance facilitates cooperation in all areas of regional and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | workforce planning, supporting the retention and creation of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | jobs, as well as increased opportunities for education; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through its initiatives, the alliance advocates |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | for area colleges and universities and for the parks and trails |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | that enhance the quality of life in the region; it also promotes |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | careful stewardship of monetary and natural resources; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This noteworthy organization is helping to make |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Northeast Texas an even stronger and more vibrant place to live |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and work, and it is indeed fitting to recognize the alliance for |

| 23 | 23 | | its essential contributions; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 1, 2023, as Northeast Texas |
