11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 255
22 WHEREAS, The counties of Bowie, Cass, Delta, Franklin,
33 Hopkins, Lamar, Morris, Red River, and Titus make up the
44 Northeast Texas Regional Alliance; and
55 WHEREAS, Sharing many significant social and economic
66 characteristics, the member counties of the coalition are united
77 in their efforts to further the vitality and prosperity of the
88 region; and
99 WHEREAS, The coalition's rural counties are an important
1010 transportation gateway, and the organization is dedicated to
1111 keeping freight moving, advancing rural broadband, and
1212 stimulating opportunities for innovation; in addition, the
1313 alliance facilitates cooperation in all areas of regional and
1414 workforce planning, supporting the retention and creation of
1515 jobs, as well as increased opportunities for education; and
1616 WHEREAS, Through its initiatives, the alliance advocates
1717 for area colleges and universities and for the parks and trails
1818 that enhance the quality of life in the region; it also promotes
1919 careful stewardship of monetary and natural resources; and
2020 WHEREAS, This noteworthy organization is helping to make
2121 Northeast Texas an even stronger and more vibrant place to live
2222 and work, and it is indeed fitting to recognize the alliance for
2323 its essential contributions; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
2525 Legislature, hereby recognize March 1, 2023, as Northeast Texas
2626 Regional Alliance Day at the State Capitol and extend to the
2727 visiting delegation sincere best wishes for a meaningful and
2828 memorable stay in Austin.
