6+ WHEREAS, Lynn McKinney is retiring as deputy superintendent
7+ of the Aledo Independent School District in June 2023, drawing to a
8+ close an exceptional career in education that has spanned nearly
9+ four and a half decades; and
610 WHEREAS, The district's longest-tenured employee, Lynn
7- McKinney has served as deputy superintendent since 2011; she
8- joined Aledo ISD in 1986 as a first-grade teacher, and she went
9- on to serve as a sixth-grade resource teacher and vice
10- principal at K-3 Aledo Elementary and subsequently as vice
11- principal and as the first female principal of Aledo High
12- School; after leading Aledo High for almost a decade, she was
13- promoted to district assistant superintendent of curriculum
14- and instruction and then to assistant superintendent of
15- special programs, a position she held for 10 years before being
16- appointed deputy superintendent; and
17- WHEREAS, Prior to joining Aledo ISD, Mrs. McKinney worked
18- for Teacher Corps, and she taught at Sam Houston High School in
19- Houston and at Campbell Elementary School in Austin; and
11+ McKinney has served as deputy superintendent since 2011; she joined

24- Secondary Principal of the Year honor; engaged in her community,
25- she received the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce Woman of
26- the Year award in 2000; retirement will afford her the
27- opportunity to spend more time with her family, which includes
28- her husband, Randal, and their two sons; and

34- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
35- Legislature, hereby congratulate Lynn McKinney on her retirement
