| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Albert Brunson, a 50-year member of Kappa Alpha Psi |

| 4 | 4 | | Fraternity, Incorporated, who is being honored by the Dallas |

| 5 | 5 | | Alumni Chapter at the 2023 Chapter Anniversary on March 9, |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Dallas Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Fraternity was established on March 9, 1935, with a mission to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | institute programs of community service, civic engagement, and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | social enlightenment in North Texas; the chapter will recognize |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | its long-standing members at its annual chapter anniversary |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | celebration; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Albert Brunson was inducted into the Xi Chapter of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Kappa Alpha Psi in the fall of 1973 at Howard University; he has |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | remained a loyal member of the fraternity and has served as a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | leader of the Dallas Alumni Chapter and as a mentor to new |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | members; Albert regularly supports youth participation in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | academic and community programs and fraternity leadership |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | events, and he provides generous donations to enable students to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | attend and graduate from college; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Albert is truly deserving of recognition for his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | longtime membership in Kappa Alpha Psi and for the role he has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | played in helping the Dallas Alumni Chapter to carry out the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | fraternity's mission of encouraging high scholastic and ethical |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | standards, promoting unity and friendship, and empowering men to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | serve their communities; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commend Albert Brunson on his many |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | achievements and extend congratulations to him on being |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | honored by the Dallas Alumni Chapter as a 50-year member of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity at its 88th anniversary |

| 32 | 32 | | celebration; and, be it further |
