| 4 | 4 | | WHEREAS, In 2013, Texas Tech University Health Sciences |

| 5 | 5 | | Center (TTUHSC) El Paso welcomed its first class of students |

| 6 | 6 | | since becoming an independent institution within the Texas Tech |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | University System; as one of the system's newest members, the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | university continues to pursue its mission to address the health |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | care needs of a socially and culturally diverse population |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | through excellence in integrated education, research, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | patient care; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Today, TTUHSC El Paso's four schools, the Gayle |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the L. Frederick Francis Graduate |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | School of Biomedical Sciences, the Paul L. Foster School of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Medicine, and the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine, are |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | dedicated to educating the health care leaders of tomorrow; in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | addition to partnering with local hospitals, the university |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | provides students with vital opportunities for medical |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | residency, clinical rotations, and postgraduation job placements |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | as they transition to the next phase of their training and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | careers; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, TTUHSC El Paso has empowered students to become |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | highly qualified medical professionals, effective patient |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | advocates, and catalysts for change in their communities, and in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | so doing, the university has made important and far-reaching |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby commemorate the 10th anniversary of Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and extend to all |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | those associated with the institution sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | continued success; and, be it further |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
