11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 274
22 WHEREAS, The Honorable M. Rex Emerson retired from the
33 198th Judicial District Court in Kerr and Bandera Counties on
44 December 31, 2022, after 13 years on the bench; and
55 WHEREAS, Licensed by the State Bar of Texas, Judge Emerson
66 has worked as an attorney in Kerr County for more than two
77 decades; he previously served as the Kerr County attorney, a
88 position he held for five years, and he spent two years as the
99 county's administrative judge; and
1010 WHEREAS, As a member of the Kerr County Juvenile Board,
1111 Judge Emerson has made vital contributions to the fair and proper
1212 administration of juvenile justice; moreover, he is a volunteer
1313 judge for the Kerr County Specialty Court, which he initiated in
1414 2019; and
1515 WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
1616 commitment to the law, Judge Emerson has greatly benefited the
1717 citizens of Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on
1818 his accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of
1919 his life; now, therefore, be it
2020 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
2121 Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable M. Rex Emerson on
2222 his retirement from the 198th Judicial District Court and extend
2323 to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness;
2424 and, be it further
2525 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
2626 prepared for Judge Emerson as an expression of high regard from
2727 the Texas Senate.
