| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Honorable M. Rex Emerson retired from the |

| 3 | 3 | | 198th Judicial District Court in Kerr and Bandera Counties on |

| 4 | 4 | | December 31, 2022, after 13 years on the bench; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Licensed by the State Bar of Texas, Judge Emerson |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | has worked as an attorney in Kerr County for more than two |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | decades; he previously served as the Kerr County attorney, a |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | position he held for five years, and he spent two years as the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | county's administrative judge; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, As a member of the Kerr County Juvenile Board, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Judge Emerson has made vital contributions to the fair and proper |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | administration of juvenile justice; moreover, he is a volunteer |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | judge for the Kerr County Specialty Court, which he initiated in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 2019; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | commitment to the law, Judge Emerson has greatly benefited the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | citizens of Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | his accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable M. Rex Emerson on |

| 22 | 22 | | his retirement from the 198th Judicial District Court and extend |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; |
