| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize March 8, 2023, as Ambulatory Surgery Center Awareness |

| 4 | 4 | | Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ambulatory surgery centers are facilities that |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | provide acute health care to hundreds of thousands of Texans each |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | year and present an alternative to traditional channels of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | medical care; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ambulatory surgery centers allow patients to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | return to their homes the same day of the surgery so that they can |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | recover from their procedures in the comfort of their homes |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | rather than in a hospital; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Patients who choose to receive care in ambulatory |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | surgery centers enjoy affordable, high-quality care that |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | eliminates the costly medical bills associated with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | hospitalization; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In addition to lowering medical costs for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | patients, ambulatory surgery centers have contributed to a more |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | efficient health care system and have saved the State of Texas |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | millions of dollars; it is indeed fitting that ambulatory surgery |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | centers receive special recognition for their invaluable |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | contributions to improving health care in our great state; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby recognize March 8, 2023, as Ambulatory |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Surgery Center Awareness Day at the Capitol and encourage the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | support and participation of all citizens in learning more about |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | ambulatory surgery centers; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society in honor of this |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | special occasion. |
